The सोनचाफा — the golden champak — is the flower of Marathi homes. It blooms before गणेशोत्सव, sits in the hair on हळदी-कुंकू afternoons, and rests in the folds of a saree at every लग्न. We named our store for it because, like the champak, every saree we choose is meant to carry a fragrance — of the आजी who wore it, the celebrations it remembers, and the woman who will wear it next.
